Mrs. Chelsea Wainwright is certified by Bolshoi Ballet Academy Vaganova Method Elementary Level under the direction of Vera Kulikova Head of Classical Ballet at Bolshoi Ballet Academy and BBA teacher Yevgenia Kazeeva. Bolshoi Ballet is one of the worlds oldest and most established schools for classical ballet training.

Director and Choreographer of "The Nutcracker" Chelsea thrives on bringing the Ballet Dancers of Niagara the best in training and performance opportunities.

Chelsea has been Ballet Director at EDC Dancers inc since 2012. Guiding students to reach technical excellence. Chelsea studied as a full time student at Canada's National Ballet School. Chelsea has danced alongside some of the worlds most esteemed Ballet companies including The Kiev Ballet, The National Ballet de Cuba under the direction of Alicia Alonso, Ballet Ouest of Montreal and Neglia Ballet Artists. Chelsea is trained in RAD Ballet (Royal Academy of Dancing) holding her Intermediate Certificate, she is also trained in Cecchetti and Russian Vaganova Ballet methods. Chelsea spent three years performing as a Dancer/Illusionist Assistant in the show "Imagine" and "Beyond Belief" at the Greg Frewin Theatre in Niagara Falls and Television appearances in New York City. Chelsea has trained with and been the protege of Stelio Calagias former owner of Metro Movement in Toronto, Ont. working intensely under his wing. Chelsea's students have been accepted into several professional ballet schools such as; Canada's National Ballet School,Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, Royal Danish Ballet School, Tivoli Ballet School, Joffrey Ballet School, School of Alberta Ballet, Quinte Ballet School and The Juilliard school. Chelsea is known for her in depth outlook on the technical elements when training young dancers and prides herself on allowing her students to reach their fullest and greatest potential. 


Alice Burke

Alice Burke was born in London, England. Raised by an eclectic bunch of musicians, hippies, film actors and authors, Alice was destined for the Arts.

     Alice is a passionate teacher and loves to promote the technique and discipline it takes to become a true professional dancer. While pushing boundaries and keeping a sense of humour, Alice hopes to constantly engage and inspire her students. She may run around the room, making funny faces while yelling loudly however there is a method to her madness. Past students are now flourishing in careers in Ballet and Contemporary companies, Music Videos, TV and Film and London’s West End, to mention a few.

 Her extensive career began at Harlow Ballet School. Leo Kersley, principal of Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet (first husband of Celia Franca) took Alice under his wing. This ensured a unique insight into the professional and traditional world of Classical Ballet. After training in mainly Cecchetti and Bournonville technique Alice also trained with The Royal Ballet School as a junior associate. Alice went on to graduate on a full scholarship from the 'London Studio of Performing Arts' studying ballet, jazz, contemporary and voice winning the ‘Triple Threat’ Award. There, Alice trained under such icons as Dame Alicia Markova and Dame Beryl Grey and went on to guest with several dance companies including 'London City Ballet’ and 'The Scottish Ballet'. 

     Alice has since enjoyed a diverse and successful career as a professional dancer, singer, actress and choreographer performing on stage and screen all over the Globe.  From Dance captain and Production Singer for Carnival Cruise Lines to Lead dancer, Lead Adage and rehearsal Director for Bodywork Dance Co (Tours included Germany/The Netherlands/Thailand/Ireland/England). T.A for Pineapple Dance Studio London. Television credits include Front Row and Timmy Mallet (ITV England) as a Lead Dancer and Backing Singer for ‘Nigel Planer’and ‘The Dooleys’.

     Theatre  Credits include : Cassie - West End Tour of Chorus Line. Janet - Rocky Horror. Mungo Jerry – Cats.  Donna Marie – Blood Brothers, Guest Artist Niagara Dance Co.. As a choreographer Alice has created works for several Dance Companies, Dance Schools and Theatre Companies (including Narnia, Blood Brothers, Musical of Musicals the Musical). Alice has also been selected as adjudicator for several Dance Competitions in Ontario, and has enjoyed a long teaching career. 

      Inspired to connect with our community through the Arts, Alice also works passionately with The United Way, RAFT and Gillian’s Place to provide and facilitate Dance and Yoga (as a certified Yoga Instructor) for vulnerable children and women throughout Niagara.



Liana Bellissimo

Liana Bellissimo is a professional dance artist based out of Toronto. She began her training with The Society of Russian Ballet and the Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre. In 2014, Liana graduated with honours from Ryerson University earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance Dance. Since graduating, she has gone on to perform professionally with the Canadian Opera Company, ProArteDanza Contemporary Ballet, Ballet Creole, Alysa Pires Dance Projects and Creativiva. She was also a cast dancer in Season 3 and 4 of the hit TV series Reign, in the Hallmark Channel film A Nutcracker Christmas, and most recently, Star Trek: Discovery. She has appeared in music videos for artists such as Feist, The Tenors, Scott Helman and Andrew Briol. Most recently, Liana co-founded ACE Dance Theatre- a professional contemporary dance company based out of Toronto and The Ballet Lab- a comprehensive summer training program devoted to technical excellence. Furthermore, Liana is a certified teacher of the ballet fitness program The Extension Method, as well as JOGA- a yoga program designed specifically for professional athletes. She holds her teaching certification with The Society of Russian Ballet and is an in-demand ballet teacher throughout the GTA. 


Shawn Bracke

Shawn Bracke's experience has taken him all over the world. A mutli versatile performer his strength lies in his pursuit to keep strong in all genres of dance.

Following graduation - Shawn moved to Vancouver to continue training and performing with The Source Dance co.  Following The Source, he completed three contracts with Royal Caribbean after which Shawn made the bold move to London, England where he worked commercially for the two years. Shawn gained contracts in Venice, Milan, Paris and Amsterdam while in Europe.

Shawn's credits include: ABC, BBC television, WE Day (Shawn Hook/Vanessa Hudgens), MMVA's, Audi, Samsung, Hot Chip, Nintendo, Luther Brown and Family Channel's "The Next Step" as well as Choreography for major brands: YTV the Zone, Mosaic, Arts&Crafts, Bud Light Sensation, Mark Masri and more.Shawn now resides in Toronto, Canada and continues to work Commercially as well as a Choreographer and Teacher at Canada's most prominent studios: The Underground Dance Centre and City Dance Corps.


Maggie Forgeron

Born in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, Maggie graduated from the National Ballet School in 2001 with a personal achievement award. Her professional career began with the National Ballet of Canada.  She also participated in three summer programs at the Banff Centre for the Performing Arts.  Maggie danced with the Veronica Tennant and Anna Pavlova Dance Projects, helped to create a new work with DNA Theatre and taught at the York School of Dance (Toronto), The Harbour Dance Centre (Vancouver) and RNB Dance (Vancouver). Personal highlights onstage include performing works by James Kudelka, John Alleyne, Twyla Tharp, William Forsythe, Johan Inger, Crystal Pite, Medhi Walerski, Aszure Barton, Kevin O’Day, Jorma Elo, Donald Sales and Jacopo Godani. It was an honour for her to contribute, through dance, to the Opening Ceremonies of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games. Most notable was a solo project with Margie Gillis called “Moon on White Crow” that premiered at Dances for a Small Stage. Maggie has been chosen to participate and is actively taking part in a project for which the purpose is the preservation of Margie’s legacy. Maggie completed her seventh Season with Ballet BC in 2013 as Giselle in Jose Navas’s world premier of the classic tale. A certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor, she is a graduate of a body-based expressive arts approach at the Tamalpa Institute and explores choreography as parallel career paths to performing. Maggie is delighted to be a guest at Niagara Ballet.


Rebecca Zizek

Rebecca has over 20 years experience as an accomplished dancer, teacher, choreographer and adjudicator from Mississauga, Ontario. Growing up in the dance world, she trained extensively in all dance styles with some of the industry’s top teachers and choreographers. In addition, she also holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree from Western University. Most recently, Rebecca has presented work in New York as a featured choreographer at the APAP Showcases presented by Peridance Capezio Center 2017, as well as the Young Choreographer’s Festival in 2015. She has choreographed and performed for many other professional and commercial shows throughout North America including; Fever After Dark, Raise the Rhythm, Fresh Blood - The Chimera Project, New Blue Festival for Emerging Artists, Toronto Raptors Junior Dance Pak, Block Party featuring Calvin Harris, Ray- Dance Gala, Sketch (the Canadian National Exhibition), Toronto Dance Teacher Expo Showcase, Breaking Formality (Echo Dance Company/York University). Rebecca also spent two years dancing as a company member with contemporary dance company POV Dance Project. In addition to her professional work, Rebecca has extensive teaching and choreographic experience with students of all ages. She loves working as a guest teacher and choreographer and is constantly working at studios, intensives and workshops across Canada, with her work receiving much acclaim. You can find her on faculty with Dance Attack Workshop and Convention. She was a five-time recipient of the Award for Young Choreography and was the recipient of the 2015 George Lon Choreography Award (DMA), in addition to many other accolades that her artistic and innovative work has received. Many of her students have gone on to pursue professional dance careers and she has students training at Joffrey Ballet School (New York City), Toronto Dance Theatre and performance dance programs at Ryerson University, York University and George Brown College. Rebecca loves to share her versatile knowledge and experience with the next generation of dancers as an adjudicator at various competitions across Canada. Rebecca’s enthusiasm and passion as an artist is undeniable and it is her honor to be able to share this with the dance community.

Calder White studied at The Ohio State University with a BFA in Dance. Professional Training from Contemporary Dance Theatre. VIM VIGOR Dance Company Winter Intensive, Contemporary Creative Lab with Tim Matiakis, American Dance Festival 6 Week School, Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre Summer Intensive

Larissa Giovinazzo

Larissa Giovinazzo is a professional dancer, aerialist, and acrobat that was born and raised in Stoney Creek, Ontario. Her dance career started at the young age of 3 and quickly expanded as her passion and love for the art from continued to grow. For 13 years Miss Giovinazzo dance apart of a competitive team which took her all over the world winning numerous awards, titles, and scholarships. Although Larissa trained in all styles of dance she closely found her strengths and focused in on them some of which include: Jazz, Contemporary/Lyrical, and Acrobatics. Miss Giovinazzo had the privilege of working with American shoe company better known as “Shoe Carnival” in both the summer and winter commercial’s. Larissa has attended many workshops and classes with well known choreographers such as: Blake McGrath, Stacey Tookey, Mia Micheals, and Sonya Tayeh. She also had the privilege to travel along side Urban Edge Dance Workshop as the assistant to many choreographers in Calgary, and Toronto. Recently Larissa worked with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as a dancer, tumbler, and aerialist performing in professional shows onboard there many cruise ships. She has had the honour of working with “America’s Got Talent” magician Drew Thomas as his magician’s assistant in the show “Now You See It” onboard the Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas. Larissa also trained under Jeremy Plumber and his company “C5 Create With No Limits” on aerial apparatuses such as silks. Currently Miss.Giovinazzo teaches and choreograph’s at a local studio where her work has won both her and her students multiple awards. Larissa continues to spread her passion for dance through performing, teaching and educating young minds.


Eva Romanowski-Annett

Since graduating from the National Ballet School teacher’s program, Eva Romanowski-Annett has committed herself to the art of teaching dance. Appreciating all dance forms, she has been on staff at Ballet Etc for over 27 years, teaching ballet, pointe, creative dance and modern. She has also taught dance in the Fine Arts department at Brock University. As former chair of the Ontario provincial branch of the Cecchetti Society of Canada, Eva has tried to foster the Cecchetti method, training students in their examinations ranging from Standards to Majors levels. She has also had the privilege of teaching at various workshops in Southern Ontario. Willing to learn as she is teaching, Eva continues to further her own development by attending workshops throughout Canada. Throughout her training, she has valued good teachers who inspire. Eva hopes to continue that same tradition with her students, providing them with the tools to be the best they can be.


Cate Moore

Cate Moore is an author, senior sales professional, & entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in health & wellness and medical marketing. 

Cate holds a degree in Biology & Philosophy from the University of Western Ontario as well as 7 CCPE designations in multiple areas including Healthcare In Canada, Psychiatry, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Neurology, Respiratory, and Pain Management.

She has held CanFitPro Fitness Certifications and is currently studying martial arts as a First Degree Black Belt. She is the past president and founder of Tru Vitality Clinic, a medical spa with an iconoclastic business model as well as a holistic approach to living fully and aging gracefully.

Cate has her own consulting business and often presents on courageously authoring our own stories, health & wellness, and the success that comes from living authentically in life, love, and business.


Jessica Weaver

Jessica started dancing at the age of 3 and hasn’t stopped. She trained locally within the Niagara Region studying ballet, jazz, tap and lyrical. Jessica is a Cecchetti trained ballet dancer. She was a Dance Olympus VIP traveling throughout the United States of America working with Frank Hatchet, and Mia Michaels. Jessica continued her dance training in Edmonton, Alberta at Grant MacEwan Community College (now Grant MacEwan University) where she graduated with a Dance Diploma. Jessica continues her dance education by attending classes and workshops regularly. She is currently studying to become a Progressive Ballet Technique instructor. Jessica is very excited to be joining the Niagara Ballet Workshop Faculty.


Katelyn George

Kate’s love for dance began at the young age of three when she began her dance lessons at EDC. By the age of six she was not only already training many days and hours a week, but also competing. For the past nine years, she has continued competing and training extensively in styles including Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical, Acro, Contemporary and Hip-Hop. She has won several overall awards and scholarships throughout her dance career thus far, the most recent being a full scholarship to a Ballet Intensive in Las Vegas with world renowned Ballet Masters. Kate has auditioned and been a member of Team Canada in the World Dance Championships two times, both times she helped Canada bring home a Gold Medal. She has completed summer programs with Ballet Jorgen and The School of Alberta Ballet, which she was offered acceptance into the full time program. Kate continues her training in all areas of dance and has grown to be a well rounded dancer.  She focuses on her technique and performance quality and continues to expand her repertoire through workshops and classes. She currently attends McMaster University where she is in her first year of Life Sciences with a Bachelor of Science. Kate shows her dancers that when you bring a love and passion for dance to each and every one of your classes, you will be able to accomplish anything you set out to do!


Chantelle Drolias 

Chantelle began dancing at the age of seven and by the age of twelve, she was taking all styles of dance and assisting the younger classes. At this time, she began her competitive career as well. At the age of seventeen, Chantelle travelled to Las Vegas to obtain her Dance Educators of America Level One Teacher Training Certificate, and also has received her certificate through Dance Masters of America. Throughout this time, Chantelle continued to compete until the age of twenty five. Chantelle began training with Ms Alice Burke when she turned 20, and is still currently mentored by Ms Alice today. Chantelle has taught both competitive as well as recreational students ranging in ages from three years old, to her oldest student at the age of sixty seven. Chantelle is certified to teach Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Modern, Musical Theatre, and Acro. Chantelle’s students have won many first and second place awards, as well as scholarships. Chantelle has received four different Best Choreography awards, and many special awards as a choreographer for age appropriate music, costuming, and choreography. Chantelle continually keeps up to date with current trends in dance by observing workshops, competitions, and engaging in teacher training at conventions, and online. Currently, Chantelle is working through the Progressing Ballet Technique program, to be certified to teach this new and exciting form of ballet training. Chantelle is currently employed by FUSiON Studio of Performing Arts, and has substituted for Niagara Ballet and EDC, as well as other studios throughout the Niagara region over her seventeen year teaching career. Chantelle is an Educational Assistant with the District School Board of Niagara, working with children who have special needs.
